A versatile skirt that can be worn in many different ways, for many different occasions! Worn high and fitted at the waist with a glorious full body of cloth at the hem. This cut is flattering on all body shapes and twirls beautifully when you spin!

Our tartan maxi skirt fastens smoothly at the back with a concealed zip. The lines of the tartan design are carefully aligned to seamlessly run across the front of the waistband, as well as along the back seam and zipper: it’s all in the details! The bottom of the skirt has a double-fold hem for a sleek finish.

About Holyrood tartan:

Holyrood tartan was designed by Alistair Buchan of Lochcarron of Scotland, to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977. Holyrood Palace, located at the heart of Edinburgh, is the Queen’s official residence in Scotland. It is surrounded by the iconic Holyrood Park, where the picture of our skirts were taken.

Sizing:

To make your made-to-measure skirt, I’ll need 3 measurements. Ask for someone to help you to get the measurement as accurate as possible.

– Your waist measurement : On most people, these skirts look best worn rather high on the waist, at the narrowest part of your torso. This is where we advise you to take your waist measurement. After you have located your waist, take a tape measure, and bring it all the way around your body. Make sure it is straight and not too tight. Check the number on the tape just after you exhale, as you want to be able to breathe comfortably

– Your hip measurement : take your hip measurement with the tape measure around the fullest part of your hip/seat.

– The desired length of the skirt : For this measurement, it is essential to ask for someone’s help to get the correct length. Stand straight, look forward. The person helping you should go back to your waist (where you measured earlier) and start measuring from there down to the desired length. This skirt shape looks best when made to maxi-length, as the skirt flares out from the waist: the longer, the fuller! We advise to have it made as long as somewhere between mid-calf and your ankle.

Should you have any question regarding the sizing of the skirt, or how to measure yourself, we are always happy to help! Drop us an email. 🙂
